Tokyo: Charge d'Affaires Ms Golubović-Duboka met with the mayor of Kashivazaki

Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tokyo, Ivana Golubović-Duboka, was in the Japanese city of Kashiwazaki, where she met with the mayor, Masakiro Sakurai.

Kashiwazaki hosted the Serbian water polo team before the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, and Chargé d'Affaires Golubović-Duboka thanked Mayor Sakurai for the provided conditions, continuous support and enthusiasm, which contributed to the creation of a winning atmosphere for our water polo players to win the gold medal at the SOG 2020.

She noted with satisfaction that the successful connection of the city of Kashiwazaki with Serbia through water polo represented a quality model of establishing close relations between our two countries and peoples.

The Chargé d'Affaires conveyed the readiness of the Embassy to support the implementation of further activities in the area of ​​promotion of sports and cultural cooperation, as well as deepening of economic ties, in the year marking the jubilee -140 years of friendly relations between Serbia and Japan.

The Chargé d'Affaires Golubović-Duboka attended the traditional event entitled "Gion Kashiwazaki Festival".
