The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Armenia Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković participated in the promotion of the Armenian edition of the book “Call me Garun” by the writer and publisher from Serbia, Vesna Pešić. The book was inspired by the author's previous trip to Armenia, when the Serbian translation of the book “History of Armenia” by the famous fifth-century historian Movses Khorenatsi was presented to the Armenian audience.

During the promotion, Pešić received the title of honorary member of the Writers' Union of Armenia, making her the first person from Serbia to receive this status.

On this occasion, the ambassador of Serbia pointed out that the author's honorary membership in the Writers' Union of Armenia and the translation of her book, which interweaves Armenian historical motifs and contemporary times, represent significant steps towards further rapprochement between the cultures of Serbia and Armenia and better understanding between the two friendly nations.

The president of the Writers' Union of Armenia Eduard Militonyan, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia prof. Dr. Aelita Doluhanyan, book publisher Van Arjan, and writer, translator, and honorary consul of Serbia in Yerevan, Babkan Simonyan, talked about the book, in the presence of distinguished members of the Armenian cultural community and media representatives.
