Selaković meets with the President of Guinea-Bissau
Minister Selaković stated that, in its international relations, Serbia remained committed to the principles of United Nations, the principles which once served as the foundations for the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement, and that Serbia was now renewing and building it relations with African countries on these same foundations.
He informed President Embaló about Serbia’s positions in the matter of the importance of preserving a multipolar world and observing international law, as well as the methods Serbia was using to fight for the preservation of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Having informed President Embaló about the current state of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and the status of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, Minister Selaković stressed that Serbia was committed to peace and stability in the region and to finding a mutually acceptable compromise agreement.
Minister Selaković learned more about the situation in Guinea-Bissau and expressed his desire for improvement of Serbia’s relations with that country.
Highlighting Serbia’s economic indicators, he stressed that Serbia was ready to share its experience in the fields such as agriculture, infrastructure and education with the countries and peoples of Africa, and that it wished to build relations with its African friends that would be based on mutual support, respect and understanding.
Minister Selaković is currently staying in the Republic of Angola, where he will tomorrow, in the capacity of the Special Representative of the President of Serbia, attend the inauguration ofthe President of Angola João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço. During his visit in Luanda, Minister Selaković will have a number of meetings with Angolan officials, as well as with representatives of other countries who are attending the inauguration.
