The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nemanja Starović, stated that the state leadership of Serbia is ready to fight for the protection of vital national interests in every place.

Speaking as a guest on Radio-Television of Serbia, Starović warned of the deteriorating security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as a drastic increase in violence against members of the Serbian people in the southern province.

As he reminded, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, during the recent talks in Brussels, showed a list of more than 80 incidents, which happened in the first half of 2021.

Also, the secretary of state pointed out that, whenever there is no progress in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the security situation worsens, estimating that the Kosovo Albanians, historically, have been rewarded for disturbing the peace.

Referring to President Vučić's statement that Serbia will never be on the tail of Europe, Starović said that our country has achieved the highest growth rate, regardless of the pandemic, pointing out that we are on the path of strengthening, which is confirmed by the results recorded in the previous period.

Starović assessed the possibility of the arrival of the investment bank Goldman Sachs on the Serbian market as positive news, emphasizing that this would create a significant potential for attracting investments from the United States.

Asked to comment on the fact that the Independent International Commission, headed by Israeli historian Gideon Greif, determined that there was no genocide in Srebrenica, Starović said that the report was an important step in establishing all relevant facts and the full truth about the events, as well as that work should be continued on establishing the same thing about the tragic events in the Podrinje region during the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
