Students of state universities completed a three-month internship at the MFA
Minister Selaković expressed his satisfaction that the project had been launched on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and later continued by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. He noted that 63 students had completed their internship, together with four colleagues who later joined through the Government project.
Minister Selaković emphasised that 25 students wished to extend their internship for another three months. He noted that, in the meantime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs obtained the Government's consent to announce a call for the admission of trainees, which gave the students a chance to start a career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Minister Selaković, the students who had completed the internship will receive a certificate which could help them conclude an employment contract in the future. “I am especially pleased that we have colleagues from the University of Kosovska Mitrovica, the University of Niš, the University of Kragujevac, and University of Novi Sad, which raises hope that our profession is still attractive, that it motivates people to study to become future diplomats, and to continue this work one day by contributing to the fight for the preservation of state and national interests and the building of Serbia”, said Minister Selaković.
Minister Selaković thanked the mentors for the dedication they showed in transferring their knowledge and skills to the interns, recognising internship as an opportunity to bring young new staff to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
