FDPM and MF Dačić with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, met today with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mustafa Şentop during his visit to the Republic of Serbia.

Ivica Dačić expressed satisfaction for meeting a former colleague and good friend, assessing that bilateral relations are at a very high level. He pointed out that, as Minister of Foreign Affairs he will continue to build good relations with the Republic of Turkey and further improve the cooperation between the two friendly countries. He expressed a clear determination to further strengthen cultural cooperation and ties between the two nations.

Dačić pointed out that the Republic of Serbia highly appreciates the support of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the Open Balkans initiative, as well as the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu at the Summit of leaders of the Open Balkans initiative, held on September 2, 2022 in Belgrade.

The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mustafa Şentop, was pleased to report that during his visit to Serbia, he had very good talks with the Serbian leadership, which confirmed that the relations between Serbia and Turkey are at an exceptional level.

He thanked FDPM /MF Dačić for his commitment and contribution in all previous official positions to the improvement of relations between the two countries, reiterating that joint projects, primarily infrastructure investments, are successfully implemented.
